“Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn.”
Benjamin Franklin
Children learn in different ways and the one hundred languages offer different means for learning and expression (e.g. talking, writing, drawing, painting, sculpture, clay modeling, dancing, acting, use of recyclable, manmade materials or natural materials).
Children at the Centre participate in an interactive, play based learning program balancing the areas of intellectual, physical, social and emotional growth. By being involved learners children develop a disposition for learning such as curiosity, cooperation, confidence, creativity, commitment and enthusiasm.
Children are capable of resourcing their own learning through connecting with people, place, technologies and natural and processed materials.
The physical environment is of fundamental importance to the child’s learning and is seen as the ‘third educator’. The outdoor space offers the children a vast array of things to explore and do, with each item strategically placed to encourage collaboration, communication and exploration. The natural environment including the plants, trees, water and other elements from nature invite open-ended interactions, spontaneity, discovery and connection with nature.
